For the signal wire (4 pin connector), wire a PWM style cable to one of the PWM ports on the RIO. The blue and green wires are the same signal, but there are two wires for redundancy. The picture below shows WAGO 221s being used to connect the wires, but you can use any connector as long as it ends up back at the RIO.
The other important part to wiring this strip is the direction - the arrow in the below picture describes how the power and signal should flow, so make sure power and ground is input from the left side of the arrow. It is worth noting there are capacitors protecting each LED. If you wish to shorten the LEDs, cut along the white line. You can solder wires from one cut strip to the next, but it is important to keep in mind the power budget, described in the next section. You can also string one strip to another.
If these are not powered off a regulated 12V, the brightness may fluctuate as the robot moves.
