If desired, the encoder may be used with 3.3V. To do this, the user must solder a bridge between the 2 pins on J2, as shown below. This shorts the 5V rail with the 3.3V rail. This makes the encoder useful for FTC.
Note: If power is provided at 5V, sensor will still output ratiometrically between 5V and GND. Sensor must receive 3.3V to output 3.3V. A resistor divider will also work.
It is not recommended to power at 5V with a solder bridge between these two pins.
